Global Design Project 007 | Theme: Farm

We are BLOWN away over at the Global Design Project Challenge Blog - There are so many coming and having a look and also playing along. Thank you to all of you for making it so successful. The Design Team is wonderful - like such a gorgeous bunch of human beings. I am loving having this privilege of working along with them. They are all so talented and we all have a different style and interpretation on the challenges. It makes it such a joy each week!

Here is our challenge this week -

I decided to not go too literal with this theme, after all there are all sorts of different farms right? Fruit Farms, Bee Farms, Fish Farms just to name a few. Most farms that I think of are in a beautiful green and gorgeous setting - so there is bound to be some gorgeous flowers and bee's around. I also googled and found that when you are a bee keeper - you have a bee farm! So there you go. That is my farm I am adapting this card from.

Some elements that are a bit of a surprise on this card. One of them is the sentiment - how did I get it to wrap around the circle like that? and also where are those bees from? Isn't that the bee from the Honeycomb Hello? They don't normally look like that? Let me show you what I did!

Here is the sentiment trick feel free to pin to remember this idea!

And here is how I removed the little dotted line behind this gorgeous little bee. Because I wanted to stamp a few of them I didn't want it to be too distracting with the line behind. This Washi Tape masking technique saved the day and made things very easy.

Here are the colours that I used for my card.

Make sure you head over to the Global Design Project to see what these incredibly talented Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators have come up with. This design team will blow your mind!

  2. Kylie, this is a beautiful card! I love how you used washi tape to mask off part of your stamp! :)

  3. Such an adorable card. You don't have to live on a farm to picture these bees buzzing around some flowers. We're just into Autumn over here, but your card makes me long for springtime flowers.

  4. I love your Bee Farm! We wouldn't have ANY farms if it weren't for Bees, they have such an important job to do. Love the wrapped sentiment and the tip for making your stamps. Another lovely project Kylie. I love it when you think outside the box ♥

  8. Bee Farm - clever. I had a close friend in primary school who lived on a bee farm...pretty cool huh! And believe it or not we used to study bee-keeping in primary school and make honey and sell it. Yum!
Fresh, clean and pretty - all the things I love. I do like the added bit of sponging on the crumb cake too, nice work. xo
