Can You Case it - Vintage Leaves Bundle

Today felt like an Autumn day in Melbourne - it was hot this morning and then and raining this afternoon. It made me feel like pulling out my Vintage Leaves Bundle and having a play. If you don't have this bundle - you need it! Absolutely gorgeous for anytime of the year.

I had two exciting things that happened today that I want to share with you because I know you will all understand. I had my FIRST International Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Training webinar today! I had so much fun! It was very successful and if you would like to hear the recording you can click here. I will be running more training in the future so if you want to make sure you stay up to date with my training that is open to all demonstrators even in Australia - you can click here.

The other exciting news I received my seventh recruit this month today! And it was totally out of the blue. I gave her a a call and she let me know that she decided to join because the Sale-a-Bration joining deal was just too good an offer to refuse. And you know what? I agree! If you live in Australia check out the deal here.

I decided it was time to play along with a challenge too! It has been a while since I have got a chance to play along other than the Global Design Project. So I very loosely based it on this sketch from Can You Case it

We all know that we LOVE the new occasions catalogue - but we don't want to forget the stunning stamps and bundles in the Annual Catalogue. This is one of those must have sets.

The Multi-Coloured leaf - This was so simple, I added some Cajun Craze, then some Cherry cobbler dabs in sections and lastly a little Early Espresso then stamped. I raised the leaves with dimensionals but don't stick it down yet!

The Watercolouring - That swish of gorgeous crushed curry under the leaves, looks tough right? Wrong! It is from the perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set! So I kind of let you astray - it's not really watercolouring - its faux watercolour! How gorgeous does it look in the crushed curry. I didn't do any special technique either - just inked and stamped.

Thanks Sentiment - That Stamp set made me look like an artist. The stunning Thanks sentiment is from the Another Thank You stamped in Early Espresso.

White on White - I love seeing a layer of white on white - it is such a clean look and yet creates such dimension and added interest. Especially when your focal point - in this case the leaves doesn't require as much space as the entire card front.

Embellishments - I added some of the metallic sequins in Silver, black and Gold. I love the look of all the colours and feel that it brings it all together. I also used some of the gold metallic thread, wrapped it around my three fingers and then stuck them down behind the dimensionals behind the leaf. If you don't have metallic thread - You need it!! It's not hard to use and makes a card look really special.

  1. Hi Kylie! That's a really neat stamp that makes it look like you've water colored the background, I had no idea it was a stamp. Congrats on your good news and thanks for entering your beautiful project in our sketch challenge this week at CYCI!
