Fabulous Flora Host Stamp Set

Sometimes our wonderful Host Stamp sets can get a little forgotten or even neglected. I wanted to remind you of a WONDERFUL host stamp set that is found in the annual catalogue called Fabulous Flora. Here it is -

We had some good friends of ours John and Alma come over for afternoon tea at our place last week. We had such a nice time together. I made a Apricot Sour Cream slice and Alma bought along her amazing Apple Cake that Bruno and I LOVE!

John is an artist and LOVES watercoloring. I am not overly confident with watercoloring so I thought who better to ask than him for some ideas with techniques etc. Here is John and Alma -

John showed me some amazing techniques here are his top three that I want to share with you.

1. Use the Basic Grey watercolour pencil to make some shadows.
2. Colour the centre of the flower and use the blender pen to pull the colour outwards.
3. He also said leave some white space - don't feel you have to colour the whole image.

Aren't they fantastic tips?? Thanks John! If you want to leave John a message that I can pass on to him - Please comment HERE.

Here is the card that he helped me to make - thank you John!

I used the Pumpkin pie and Daffodil delight on the flower - Old Olive on the leaves and the Basic Grey for the shadows. The sentiment is from the wonderful Rose Wonder Stamp set.

Please pin this card if you like it and let John know what you think of his technique tips by commenting below. I know he is going to LOVE hearing from you all.

  3. Thank you John for those tips on water colouring.
They are very helpful. I can relate to the white space as being a floral artist, we must always incoporate space within the design. Thanks for the reminder that this also applys to our stamped images.
Thanks also to you Kylie for sharing this information from your friend. Afternoon tea sounded terrific

  9. Great watercoloring tips. I am happy to know about coloring the center and then pulling the color out from there. I like this stamp set but haven't used it yet.
