Hey You - Good Vibes - Do you enjoy Colouring?

Only Five days till we leave for the Philippines!! Oh my! We have been very busy - Doctor - Check, Vaccinations - Check, Dentist - Check and a whole lot of other things you don't realise you need to do when leaving for five months. It sure has been interesting around here. I am super thankful to Bruno and Jessie - they have been AMAZING. Wouldn't have been able to get done what we have without them.

A few years, Bruno came home with his first colouring book. I thought he was crazy. But then, colouring in became very much in-vogue (sometimes, I still think he is crazy! hahahahah).

But, I was VERY happy when Stampin' Up! including paper and stamps that took advantage of this trend. For todays project, I used the Good Vibes stamp set and the markers. And, I coloured. And, thats it! I find colouring so therapeutic and calming. According to research - Coloring allows the fear center of your brain to relax, thereby relaxing you — and not just while you are colouring. In fact many well known and respected phycologists prescribe colouring for mental health - Carl Jung is one of these.

Clinical counselor Leslie Marshall notes that the activity "opens up the frontal lobe of the brain — the home of organizing and problem solving — and focuses the mind" by allowing colorers to forget their worries. Being able to live in the moment is a critical skill in our increasingly demanding world, and coloring trains you to put everything else aside for the hour you spend doing it.

So it is good for you! If you haven't tried it, give it a go. Your mental health will thank you for it.

This stamp set is so cool. The images are so very on-trend. And, you can use your own creativity to colour the images in whichever way you see fit. I have to admit, that I googled what colour a Toucan actually is (its black with an orange beak). But, I took artistic license with this colouring in. I used the following colour palette;

I stamped onto Whisper White and coloured (I used the archival black ink). I then mounted onto a piece of Lemon Lime Twist and then onto a Pumpkin Pie card base. Do you have these stamps? If you don't, you are going to want to buy them now and express your creativity your way. Click on the link below and buy them now.

Today, I have shown you one possibility of how to colour. But, think of the other possibilities ..... do you enjoy watercoloring? Or what about using emboss/resist? What about the amazing watercolour pencils?

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
